Freeze-Dried Skittles Original: the classic fruit candy, now crunchy 🌈
Freeze-Dried Skittles Original are classic Skittles with the water taken out in a freeze dryer. Under vacuum each candy puffs up and cracks open, and the inside turns light and brittle. Instead of being chewy and sticking to your teeth, they crunch from the very first bite. The flavours are the ones you know from the red pack: strawberry, orange, lemon, grape and green apple.
We freeze-dry them ourselves in Poland and pack them straight into an airtight bag so they don't pick up moisture.
What do freeze-dried Skittles taste like? 😋
The shell snaps like a thin wafer and the inside melts away in your mouth. The flavour is stronger than in regular Skittles because there's no chewy texture getting in the way. Many people start with Original and then move on to sour Skittles Sour or Skittles Tropical.
How do I keep them crunchy? 🔒
Keep the bag closed, in a cool, dry place. Once opened, eat them within a few days, because moisture in the air makes the candy go soft. More in our guide on how to store freeze-dried sweets.
